Busting the Myths: Common Pitfalls for New Nonfiction Authors

If you’ve been following me on LinkedIn or Instagram for a while, you know that I’ve talked about the benefits of writing your book SEVERAL times.
Increased credibility, attracting clients, and bigger speaking opportunities– these are just some of the advantages of having a book. For some, these are enough to get started on their first draft.
However, not everyone believes that they can do it (even if they can!).
In my experience, it’s because they are wrapped up in some misconceptions that make them question their abilities. As an aspiring author, you can’t let these myths hold you back! Together, let’s bust them and reveal the truths that will empower you on your author journey.

MYTH 5: You need a traditional publisher to succeed.
TRUTH: It's a brave new world! With self-publishing, indie presses, and hybrid options, there's a path for every writer. Don't let the publishing gatekeepers define your success. Carve your own way.
So, there you have it – five common myths debunked.
Writing a book is a marathon, not a sprint. Take it one step at a time, celebrate small wins, and most importantly, enjoy the process. You’ve got this!
Now, it’s time to ditch those myths and start writing your story.
