Welcome to the podcast! This episode is going to be especially short and sweet but don’t let the length of the show fool you. Today we’re going to focus on one critically important question -- Are you ready to publish?
And to be clear, when I say “ready” I’m not asking if you have the desire… I’m not even asking if you have the skill set or if you have the time. I can teach you the skills you need to publish your book … and I’ve been coaching women on-time creation and productivity for years so I’m not worried about those things. What I can’t do, however, is write your book.
Stay with me here…
When I ask you if you are ready to publish, your answer will be solely dependent on whether or not you’ve completed at least the first draft of your book.
If your answer to this question is no, I haven't completed it, this is the time I'm going to lovingly tell you that listening to this podcast or immersing yourself in any kind of publishing training at this point in your author journey is solely a distraction. If you don’t have a manuscript you’re not ready to publish because you don’t have anything TO publish. Instead of trying to figure out this self-publishing stuff, give your time and space needed to complete your best first draft. Then, after you do, come back, learn, and then take action. I’ll be right here when you’re ready.
Now, if you can say yes, "I’ve got that first draft done!" -- fantastic! You can put a big old checkmark next to the “are you ready” question and move on to episode 2. Follow me over there when you’re ready for another important question for you to consider.
